Gideon is an Educational Development Practitioner and Quality Education Advocate. He is currently studying for a Masters of Arts in International Education and Development at the University of Sussex as a 2017/2018 recipient of the UK’s Chevening Scholarship. He is a member of the Global Shapers Community, an Initiative of the World Economic Forum and a 2015 YALITechCamp (South Africa Alumnus), a flagship program of President Barack Obama for young and outstanding African Leaders.
He is also a UNESCO Young Leader in Africa, a Teaching Fellow/Certified Entrepreneurial Leadership Educator at the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa and a Global Youth Ambassador with the ‘A World at School’ International Campaign on Education.
In addition, he is an International Education Specialist and an International Youth Speaker/Delegate, who participated and represented Nigeria in several High-level consultations such as the World Education Forum in Incheon, South Korea; the 66th UN/DPI NGO Conference in Gyeongju, South Korea; the 14th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Nairobi, Kenya; the 7th UNESCO NGO Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; World Youth Forum Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt; the 8th UNESCO NGO Forum in Paris, France. His interests cut across educational policy analysis, right to education, youth civil engagement and innovative financing mechanisms in Education.
